I Love You

Just look at the love in that dogs face.
I love you
Steve got the brush out and Cheddar went nuts. It is about 85 here today. I know you California people are laughing at us, as you are experiencing 100+ weather. You should feel our pain, it was still in the 40's on Monday. I will admit that I am loving the sun. The boys and I are off to the movies tonight. Megan is at a sleep over.

Have a good Friday night and stay cool.

The Marsh

Birds in the Marsh
It is a beautiful morning up here today. The mountains around us are green from all the rain and snow. You can see the cattle grazing on the mountain tops and it is warm enough for shorts. By Saturday I may be singing a different tune because it is suppose to get up near 90 degrees. What happened to the spring weather.

Tuesday Steve and I went for a long walk out at the marsh. I took a bunch of pictures of the different birds out there right now. Steve was a good sport about standing around and waiting for me while I snapped pictures. He even threw a rock, not at the bird just close, so I could get a picture of it with his wings opened. I missed the shot and Steve found out it wasn't a rock he threw. It was geese poop. I may have lost my assistant. lol Next trip we will remember the mosquito repellent. After about an hour, Steve was convinced he was catching West Nile. Heyyy wait a minute that is my line.

Yesterday I went to the middle school plant sale. The eighth graders clean out and fix up the green house and the seventh graders are responsible for planting all the plants. It is a great deal and the plants are really good ones. All the money they make goes back into the green house for next year. The money raised from this sale is the only way they get to have this program. The town really supports this project. I got my tomato plants, all my spices, a jalapeno, some zucchini and a bunch of flowers. Steve is home today so we are going to go back during Anthony's shift and get some more stuff. After it is all done today, their teacher will let the kids take whatever is left over. I got a ton of stuff last year, and we ended up sharing with Andrew (the pirate at Jason's party). He pouted until I shared my oregano with him last year. This year I am prepared.

Have a good day and enjoy the weather before it gets to hot.

Happy Monday

And if I calculated right there is only 17 school days left. I am as excited as the kids. My Mothers Day was really nice. I got a beautiful flower in a pot that Jason painted. I was at the school when the kids where finishing them up. Jason told the kids not to let me see his gift, so whenever I got close to it they would all start yelling at me. It was to funny. Anthony bought me a stuffed teddy bear and a bracelet, with his own money and Megan painted me a picture and framed it. The boys made me breakfast and they all chipped in for dinner. After a couple of intense rounds of Mario Party on the DS, we walked to the ice cream shop for some ice cream. Even the dog got a dogie cone. Very nice and relaxing day. The boys spent Saturday night making this message with side walk chalk. Anthony climbed up on the roof to take this picture.

Today, Steve and I are going for a hike to check out the baby owl's. They are suppose to be big enough to see in their nest. Tonight is Anthony's first baseball game. It will be a cold night tonight, so I need to dig out my stadium blankets.

Happy Birthday Auntie Kelli, we don't have a birthday video, because no one was home at the same time this weekend.

That's it for me today. Have a good Monday.

A quick update

I am up way to early for a Saturday. Megan and I where up at 5:30am. She is off on her girl scout trip and she is very excited. She will be back tomorrow afternoon.

Yesterday I worked at the school in the morning and Jason's teacher asked me to go with them over to the high school. The Oregon symphony was here and was going to play for the kids. They managed to squeeze 1400 kids in the gym. The music was wonderful, but the kids got bored about 45minutes into to show. We started to have kids dropping shoes under the bleachers (we where at the very top). They where so cute. The excitement about just getting to go to the high school. The Oregon Symphony has been coming to the schools for the last couple of months and introducing different instruments to the kids. They also gave the kids a chance to ask questions and play the instruments themselves. I even got to play with them on percussion day.

Today we are going up to the college to meet the football players. It's something they do every year and both kids are looking forward to it. Anthony has lots of questions. He is already thinking about colleges and what sport he wants to play. He loves football and basketball but I think his true love may be baseball. He was playing football during lunch yesterday and ran into the chain link fence. He has a big bump and cut on his forehead. I am surprise that the kid has not broken anything yet.

I need to get moving. I have to be at the soccer field with snacks. Even though Megan isn't here we still need to do snacks. I don't have any new pictures to share. I have cleaned them all off my peter so that I can work on it. Hopefully we will be doing that today.

So much to do

So little time.....

Yesterday was absolutely crazy. Steve was working and out of town, and I had to be in 3 places at the same time. I spent an hour in the car just picking up and dropping off kids. I was lucky enough to see the last 15 minutes of Jason's baseball game. He hit a killer fly ball, but he was out when he passed first base running to second, but the kid on second wasn't going anywhere. There was a few tears when I had to explain to him how all this works. I also pointed out how many times his older brother has been out. This is the first time that I have all 3 kids in sports at the same time. Soccer will be ending this weekend so that will help out a little bit.

I am still working on spring cleaning out the house. I didn't get much done yesterday, but I did get a little baking and cooking done. I am trying to get some things in the freezer that all I have to do is warm them up. It will make dinner on nights like last night a little easier. The kids didn't eat until 8pm. I don't know why they schedule little kids games at 6:00pm. It's to early to eat dinner before the game and too late after the game. Oh well, soon it will summer and this won't be a problem. Remind me I said that when I am complaining this summer.

I am going to be working on getting my pictures backed up and off my computer today. This week I will be putting a new hard drive in my peter. I will also be added another back up hard drive with double the space that I have now. My peter has been warning me for months that there is a problem and I have just been ignoring it. So, with a few calls to my Dad, I will be getting this done this week.

A late Happy anniversary to Roger and Doreen (Lady Grandma and Grandpa). We hope that you guys had a good day yesterday and are enjoying your visit with Aunt Barbara.

It's Spring

It finally looks like spring here. The trees are in bloom and we actually have some flowers. It is still getting down in the freezing levels at night, so no veggie garden going in yet. I have plants in all my windows waiting to be planted outside. We are waiting for the snow up on the mountain to melt back a little more. We have some trails marked out that we want hike, but it is still a little too snowy.

It was a good and busy weekend. Jason's parade was very cute. It is the first time Steve and I watched it with no kids with us. As a result no one was throwing us candy, bummer. Megan went with her coach to her soccer game and we met them there. They lost all three games and her hand got stepped on at the end of the 3rd game. Nothing broken, but it was pretty swollen. This team they played is very good. However, the ref's weren't calling offsides, pushing or anything else for that matter. One girl from the other team had a very bad attitude, her mother is the ref, and I was a little surprise on how she spoke to her mother. Anyway, when this girl tried to score a goal and Megan caught the ball, my sweet precious little girl hissed at her like an angry cat. We on the side lines laughed and pretended to not notice. I explained to her later, that while it was funny, she could get carded for that. Anthony stayed in town to do window washing with the football team. Some lady paid them to do the windows on her chicken coup, inside and out. Anthony, being the only incoming freshman in his group, had to do the inside. I guess the chickens decided they didn't want their windows washed because they started to attack. One of his friends was laughing so hard telling me the story. I really wish I was there, with my camera of course.

I am doing some spring cleaning today. My house needs it badly. Have a good Monday.

A Long Time

It's been a long time since I have posted. We have been crazy busy. We flew into Sacramento last weekend for a quick visit. It was a great time. Poor Jason got nervous on the flight but ended up doing really well. Anthony was too funny. The last plane he flew on was those big 747's. They fly a lot different then the smaller one that we where on. He said he could hardly tell when they took off and landed. Unlike this last plane where it was loud and you could feel every bump. 2008_0426sacramento0021 2008_0426sacramento0022

Steve's sister and her family stayed at his parents house with us. It was a great time and kind of like a big slumber party. We ended up doing a lot of teasing with Jessica. Poor thing she is the only teenage girl and it seemed we where always waiting for her and her hair to be done. LOL We love you Jessica. We took a bunch of family pictures (again lots of teasing Jessica). Megan and Joseph did lots of DS playing and there was lots of swimming. We had to laugh because our first night there, Roger and Doreen where cuddled up under a blanket with the heater on. We almost broke the blinds trying to get the window opened. We we left here it was snowing and when we arrived in Sacramento it was in the 70's and the last day got into the 90's. Jason was in the pool while we where sitting around talking and eating (pretty much what we did the whole time) he slipped off his noddle and was in over his head. He did the right thing by bouncing up and down and screamed for help. Steve jumped in and helped him out. Jason was really scared and didn't want anything more to do with the pool. That feeling has passed and is bugging me to go to the pool this weekend. We also had a very short visit with Nana and Gramps and my parents. We finally got to meet Andrews girlfriend and she is very nice. Megan got to see Danny (the basset hound) whom she has missed all winter. We will spend more time with them this summer. All in all it was a great trip and we are really glad we made it. We are trying to plan another trip this June for a little bit longer.

Check out how red Megans legs are.

Baseball season has started with games for Jason. The first game was in the rain but this last one was nice. Today is officially opening day with the big parade downtown. We are going to be here for the parade and then he will miss this game and we will head out of town for Megan soccer game.
