A Quick Camping Trip and Surgery

We took a fast trip to the lake.  When I say fast I mean fast.  We decided Friday night that we might not get a chance until after August to take a camping trip so we decided to take a fast one.  We left Sunday and got back Monday.  We had to laugh at all the stuff I forgot to take, but when you plan a trip and pack in one day, things are going to get forgotten.

On a sad note, it is officially chedders last camping trip.  He is completely blind and looks like he may have had another stroke.  He gets around fine at home but not in unfamiliar surroundings.  The poor thing, he had a really tough time.

Anthony came down and spent the day with us.  We got a boat and Steve and the kids played around in it and found an unoccupied dock.  The weather was great and the kids loved the swimming.  The dog couldn't go in the boat so we stayed on the beach.

The only picture that was taken of the whole trip was this one.

This kid forgot to bring anything to swim in, so he borrowed a pair of shorts.  Guess who's shorts they are.  If you guessed a certain 16 year old girls shorts, then you guessed it right. Shhhhh!!!!! you never saw this picture.  When Megan saw him she said "my those are snug".

I didn't take a single picture.  I relaxed and laughed at the kids.  It was a great time.

On to the surgery.......

I don't know if I have posted anything about Steve's injury.

In February while at work, Steve slipped on the ice while going to his train.  They have to wear spiked shoes to keep from slipping.  One shoe worked and stuck in the ice, while the other slipped.  The result was pulling the muscels in his back and damage to his knee.  Also he has been out of work since the injury.  It has been a joy, but that is for a later post.

The back is starting to heal, but the knee isn't.  That is what tomorrows surgery is for.  So please keep him in your prayers for a safe and speedy recovery.  He will be completely off his knee for 4 weeks.  Hopefully in 6 weeks he will be close to getting back to work.
