A Good Trip

We are home and I am missing Grandma already. The thing I will miss the most is sitting in the kitchen at chatting about whatever comes to mind. I am not the only one missing someone. Cheddar is missing Danny and Lady. He keeps watching the door waiting for them to show up. The last night there, he and Danny never left each others side and Lady even let him play with her.

I told the kids we are doing NOTHING today. Steve had the house looking very nice when we came home. He even had flowers waiting for me. Once we unloaded the car it looked like a tornado went through here. So my goal today is to unpack a couple of suit cases and go through all my mail. We have 5 weeks until school starts and a whole bunch of stuff, fun and not so fun, that needs to get done between now and then.

Next up on the family agenda is a trip to Disneyland in October. So I need to start working on those plans.

Have a good day!!!

Just for Steve

This picture is for Steve.......

Almost Over

Our trip is coming to an end. I can't believe that 2 weeks has almost past. It has been amazing, fun and really busy. We spent a couple of days with my dad at the coast which was great. I loved sitting outside and doing my Sudoku puzzles watching the kids and dog explore the area. Camping with my parents now is so much different then when I was a kid. Their trailer is 10x bigger then our old one and we didn't have TV or Internet. Of course we only spent a week or two in it at a time, while mom and dad live in it for a couple of months a year. It was so fun to see people I haven't seen in so long.

My brother had some good news this week. The company he works for is sending him to Hawaii for 3 weeks to work. You can tell by talking to him how excited he is.

Well, I must go now and start getting ready for our trip home tomorrow. Mom is taking me to Cheese Cake Factory for a belated birthday lunch today. Also a quick last minute stop at Costco and a store or Steve's favorite beer.

Here are a few pics from the coast.

The Coast

We are here at the coast and it couldn't be better. The weather is great, sunny but a little windy. Absolutely wonderful. In typical style, there will be lots of people here for a wonderful fish dinner and we can not wait. I will post pics and write more later.

We Are Here

Well, we are here. We made it with no problems. Well, almost no problems. They closed down the exit to highway 95 and a couple of other exits. So we had to take a round about way to get back to where we wanted to be. The little detour added about an hour to our time. That would not be such a big deal, but when you are taking a little drive of about 10 plus hours, it becomes a big deal. Anthony was pretty funny and thought maybe we would end up in Utah instead of CA. The kids did great, they didn't want to stop that much, just wanted get to Grandmas. Anthony was such a help and he made this trip so much easier. The kids are working me pretty good to stop at Circus Circus in Reno on our way home. Andrew may come back with us then fly home later. We are going to go to see the Jelly Belly factory, Raging Waters and a couple of places here in town that I think they will enjoy. We have my uncles 90th birthday on Saturday then off to the coast for a few days.

We are having a great time but missing Steve too.

Our Tree

Bummer, we are losing our big 80 year old tree in the front yard. There is a water main leak and the pipe goes right under the tree. So the city is going to come next week and take the tree and most of our sidewalk, which needed to be fixed anyway. I will come back to no tree, new sidewalk and while we are at it a new patio in the backyard. Anthony is happy about the tree. That means he will not have as many leaves to rake up this fall.

Soccer is Here

Yep, it is Soccer season. Jason played yesterday and scored 3 goals. They don't keep score so we really don't know who won. However Megan's team is keeping score and they tied 4 to 4. She played goalie and didn't have her best game. She took a hard hit to her thigh, and still tried to get the ball. One of the boys on the team pointed out that the hit took her down, and she politely said "yeah Brandon, you would have cried." To this he agreed. lol

Our water main has a leak in it. The city will be out sometime tomorrow to fix it. In the mean time we have water but almost no pressure. Oh well, what are you gonna do.
She is tired and taking a break.

Another Count Down

The trip to Sacramento is a go. We are so excited and I think Grandma is too. We are going to spend the first week in Sac doing all the tourist stuff. Water Parks, Zoo, Jelly Belly tour and a whole bunch of other stuff. Over the weekend we will be celebrating my birthday and my uncles 90th birthday. Once that is over it is off to the coast for the second week and see Grandpa. It will be great because it is soooo much cooler up there. So now I am off to start getting ready to go.

The Day After

We had a great time last night. Steve's friend Andrew and Scooter met up with us at the fireworks show. There was a live band and Jason spent most of his time dancing in front of the stage, very funny. Of course, Anthony had lots of friends there and spent time with them. Megan is was tired and hung out with us most of the time. Andrew and Scooter came back to the house to light fireworks with the kids. Cheddar was not pleased that he had to stay in the house. Lets just say Cheddar and Scooter are not going to be dogie pals. I am not sure what today is going to hold. It is supposed to be 105 and we have soccer practice. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will cancel it.

Have a good day.

Happy 4th of July

I love this holiday. Not only because of it's obvious reasons but because it is a day we spend not only with my family and friends but with our community. This is one of the things Steve and I love about being in a small town. The whole town will be at the college stadium tonight for the fire work show. A little bit of luck and a lot of RR stupidity, Steve has today off.
We started the day at the high school band firework stand taking advice on what fireworks to buy from a bunch of high school kids. Who else would know what better to buy? Then off to the store for olives for pasta salad, which is a requirement for my 6 year old. Steve has taken the kids to the river for some swimming while I finish the pasta salad. I totally forgot to make it last night and I don't want to disappoint the little one. Then a bbq with some friends and off to the firework show. Of course return home for our own fireworks. It is only supposed to be in the high 90's today. We are saving the real heat for tomorrow during soccer practice.

Happy 4th of July

Great Weekend

It was a nice sort of relaxing weekend. Only had a couple of things to do and that is relaxing for us. The next couple of weeks are very exciting. My friends are coming to spending the 4th of July with us then we are making a trip to the Tri-Cities. Anthony has a friend visiting for the week and that has been an adventure. Then we leave for California on the 14th. We are soooo excited. We will be doing water parks, tours and a trip to see Grandpa up at the coast. I spent so much time there when I was a kid and started taking Steve when we got married. Both Anthony and Megan have been there but really don't remember. Jason has never been there. Grandpa has his boat, so the 2 younger kids will get to go in the cove, and if the weather corporates Anthony and Andrew will get to go fishing. Very exciting.
Well, that is all for now. I am planning a little adventure today for the kids so I need to get moving.
