Happy Birthday Dad/Steve

Happy Birthday, WE LOVE YOU!!!

Sick Again

UGGGGGH!!!
Jason is home sick again. He has a fever and regular asthma attacks. The doctor is getting back to me on whether his med dosage is right. Poor kid, I feel so bad for him. I am so sick of everyone being sick. Anthony is the only one who has been sick just once this season. So, today I am washing everyone's sheets, towels, pillows, blankets and anything else I can get my hands on. Steve is feeling better and heading back to work today. Bummer because it is his birthday and he has to work. Oh Well, we will celebrate when he gets home. The kids have something in mind.....he he he!!!
I will post the kids birthday wishes later.
Have a good healthy day today!!!

Nice Day

Steve is still sick, but feeling a little bit better. The day started very early this morning. Jason had a really bad asthma attack. One of those that wake you out of a dead sleep. So he and I where up at 5am, Anthony followed at 6 and Megan at 6:15. Very unusual in this house. I got a few things done around here, then spent the afternoon playing with my camera. The dog was my subject even though he doesn't like his picture taken. Normally he barks at me when I get it out. I was refamiliarizing myself with shutter speeds, apertures, iso's, white balance things that I have not done in awhile. It's been a long time since I have taken photography classes.

Here is the dog waiting patiently for the squirrel to come back and for me to go away!!!!

Playing with iso's and shutter speed to catch water drops. This is actually coming out of the faucet pretty fast. I need to work on this a little bit more, but had to stop because I was making a muddy mess.

Mondays

Steve is pretty sick with the flu. Not much moving around today by him. Spring must be coming soon, because it is little league sign ups this week. Jason is ready for coach pitch this year. Of course Anthony will be playing Babe Ruth again this year. He likes all sports but baseball is his favorite. Two of his good friends play soccer so between practices and out of town games, there isn't a whole lot of time spent with his buddies in the spring. 4 weeks from today he will be in Washington DC. Hard to believe the trip is almost here. Jason is having a hard time at school, because his close friend moved to Ohio last week. He is very sad to see her go and to be honest so am I. They are a very nice family and very sweet kids. Not much else going on here, waiting for miss Meg to get back from Girl Scouts so she can finish her mountains of homework. There is always drama in her life and it gives me a major headache. She is super excited that soccer is almost here.

A Long Sunday

2008_0224bbpumb0005
The only good picture from today. The boys are in blue and they lost both of their games. The kid trying to get the ball from Anthony is on his baseball team. I think this is it for their season. I am not sure because the coaches are not real good at letting us know about upcoming tournaments. I had to miss the last game because Steve called and said he was sick and needed a ride home. He has never done this while he is away, so I figured he must be really sick. It was about an 3 1/2 hour drive round trip, but he is feeling better now that he is tucked into his own bed.

MVP Player of the Game.

Yep, that would be my son. They lost the first game but won the second by 1 point. The team played awesome. Anthony was the top scorer with 10 points and had the most foals at 3 (and a couple that the refs didn't see). Way to go Anthony. The best part of being MVP is that he got a coupon for any sandwich he wanted at Burger King. He ate the quad stacker, yukkkk. This win also means that we have two more games today. The first one is at 9:15 this morning and they are playing a team that has beat them for the last two years. Hopefully the boys will be awake and ready. I will of course post an update later. Here are some pictures. They are not the best because I was not using a flash.

In the picture below, Anthony did not make the basket. See the kid in white on the other side of the court, behind Hayden #8? The ball went up and over the basket to that kid and he made the basket. lol Steve figures it was an intended pass.

Some quick points from Dad. Who was lucky enough to make it through most of the game before going back to work.

What a week

It looks like it is going to be a crazy weekend. I spent to morning working at the school and will be back up there for Megan's class and a medieval fair this afternoon. I worked on Megs outfit last night and I have to finish with mine this morning. Anthony is off skiing with a group from school. I really need to get the other two up there and skiing too. It is so much fun and I know they will love it. We have basketball tournaments all weekend and a girl scout outing tomorrow. Steve is back to engineering again. There was a big mud slide between Klamath and Eugene. They have rerouted train traffic through here. So what is normally a slow time of year, is really crazy. Plus, they have had issues up here with rail breaks and weather. Other then that, nothing much going on here. lol

Here is a picture of the slide, the yellow line is where the track used to be. They say that the slide is as tall as the Sears Tower. I got this picture from the UP website.

Just because I like this picture.

just take the picture and go away..........

You Be The Judge

So I changed things a little bit, to accommodate bigger and better pictures. Can you see the difference? Not sure I am crazy about the color, but that can be changed later.

Picture uploaded using blogger.

Same picture uploaded through Flickr. Can you see the difference? Flickr rocks.

A Weekend With Sunshine

And it felt great. Everyone was getting moody so Steve and I decided to go out and see the bald eagles and their babies that have made their nest's around here. Also, because of the deep snow in the mountains, the elk have been coming into town for food.

We didn't see any eagles, bird watching with Jason was nearly impossible. He is totally incapable of not talking.

We ended up going up the mountain a little bit and take a hike up the river. We found the river half frozen over which just makes good playing fun. It ended up with the ice breaking and two of the three kids in the river. Always prepared for these things. We stripped down Megan and Jason, wrapped them up in warm blankets and headed home. It was a good lesson in water safety.

The pictures I am posting are smaller then before. I was not happy with the quality of the Blogger uploads. So I am using a third party website to help me out. They have to be smaller pictures to get them to fit on the page. Someday I will change my layout to fit the bigger pics, but this will have to do for now.

The Party

We had Jason's b. day party yesterday and it was a lot of fun. He had 10 of his closest friends there. It was a pirate party and some of the kids showed up in costume. Even Steve's 29 year old friend Andrew. The kids thought he was great because he really is just a big kid himself. We had a treasure hunt but the kids basically ran through the house yelling. I had to laugh because I work with most of them at school and they are not that loud there. lol

After the party we went out to dinner, church then up to Walmart to spend some Christmas/Birthday money on some new games for the DS's. Which I might just be buying one for myself one of these days. Each kid bought a new game. Anthony got one that we could all play and it led to some good nature family competition. Steve is at work today and we are taking it easy. We are thinking about going to see a movie later today or tomorrow.

My prayers are with my Dad and Aunt today. They are driving from CA to Or to see my sick uncle. He is not doing well, and they are trying to get there before they move him to Seattle. Safe travels ..

Happy Birthday Jason

Happy 7th birthday. We got up early to open presents before Steve went to work. He love his DS and really excited about spending his birthday money. The big party is this weekend. He has invited his whole class and a couple of other people. It should be a wild time. I will post more pictures later.

Birthday wishes from his brother and sister.

Save Friday Night Lights

Between the writers strike and low ratings NBC is thinking about canceling Friday Night Lights. Making last Friday it's last show.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
All the good shows are always canceled. Anthony and I are so excited that Jericho is coming back on tonight. The only reason it is back is the writers strike. Another great show. Why don't the networks promote these great shows and let some of the others that have long since "jumped the shark" go away. This is one of the reasons I haven't put much time into watching night time tv. I get hooked on a show and it gets canceled. So, if you love the show and want to save it. Click on the "Save Friday Night Lights" links on the right and go sign the petition. If you haven't watched the show, go to NBC and watch it on line. It's a great show.

Megans Style

God love her, she has her style and she is not afraid to be her. We found the silver shoes and she added the shoe laces. I have to admit, they are very cute on her.

Confirmation Weekend

After months of preparing the big day arrived. It was a beautiful ceremony and Anthony looked so grown up. I think Fr. Christopher was more nervous then the kids. It was great to meet and talk with the Bishop. Megan and Fr. Hank had their regular argument over who gets the chocolate cake. He tried to steal hers and she tried to bite his fingers. He is really a great guy and we are going to miss him when he retires. Anthony's girlfriend was there getting confirmed as well. She is a very cute little red head. She was late so she isn't in any of the pictures. Poor Anthony was not feeling good but put but on a good show. He had a birthday party to attend after confirmation and didn't want to miss it. The flu has been working its way through the whole family, but thank goodness we are all on the mend.

Today Steve and I hit the local Walmart at 6:00am. We where after a blue Nintendo DS and we got it. They haven't had any ds's anywhere including on line since around Christmas. I was excited to get my hands on one and a cool new blue one at that. Jason will be pleased on Thursday. The snow is starting to melt back. After 2 1/2 months of snow on the ground I can't say that I am sorry to see it go. I have a feeling that it won't be gone for long.

Here are some pictures of Saturday night.

Waiting for the Snow

Looking back over the past few weeks, it seems like all I do is talk about the snow. Yes, we are waiting for yet another storm to come through. It sounds like 6 to 12 inches here in town and of course more in the mountains. And wind, can forget the wind.

On to something else besides the weather. SUPER TUESDAY!!!!! Being in Oregon, the primaries will pretty much be over by time I get to vote at the end of the month. I don't know if the actual election will be this exciting but it has been fun to watch. What I find fun is my discussions with both my 14 year old son and my 17 year old nephew. My son is watching and asking questions. Not a lot of opinions but just lots of questions about the process. My nephew on the other hand has lots of opinions. I don't think he and I share any of the same political views but I love talking about them with him. He either is listening to me and trying to understand my side, or he is just totally blowing me off and thinks I am crazy. Either way, he is being really polite about it. I like neither Hillary nor Obama and neither will be getting my vote. What I find refreshing is the young people and their passion for Obama. Even though I don't agree with them, I think it is great that they are taking an interest in something other then themselves. I do see in my nephew the influence of the school system. He had a project where he was to research both Rep. and Dem. views and write a report. His teacher gave him moveon.org as a good reference for finding view points. I took serious issue with that and don't believe that moveon is a good reference no matter what side of the political spectrum you find yourself on. I pointed him to the DNC and GOP websites and he found the info he was looking for. While I know that if he could vote it would not be the way I would, but I am just proud of him for having opinions and willing to talk to me about them. After talking and doing a lot of listening, I wish the school's could give these kids a good lesson on both sides of the issues and leave their personal opinions out. I try, when talking with my son, to give him both sides of an issue and then my opinion. However, when the subject of global warming, air pollution and the cars we drive came up, I did point out that his holier then thou teacher drives an SUV.

Ok, now that I have rambled on about this for long enough. I am going to go and put a dvd in and do some scrapbooking. I need to finish sorting the 650 pictures I just got back from the printers (469 more to go before I have 2007 done). Have a good Super Tuesday.....

The War has Begun

The air soft war is on, and I think Steve is the target. Here is a pic as they head off to war. I have the same type of picture from last year. It is to funny to see how much these boys have grown. Just think, next year they will start driving. God Help us!!!

The Calm

Which is not going to last much longer. Tonight is Anthonys much awaited b.day party. The only reason the house is quite is because they went to Blockbuster to get games and movies. I am not sure who is worse, the boys or Steve. They where supposed to have an air soft war, but the weather is crappy. Snowing (of course) and lots of wind. I am the only girl tonight, Megan bailed on me and went to a friends to spend the night. I never thought I would have to yell "NO MORE FARTING." It's going to be a long night. I will post pictures later.
